4H STORM RELIEF PROJECT

Our Why

What began as casual drinking quietly escalated into a decade-long battle with alcoholism that slowly unraveled every part of my life. Through it all, my incredible wife stood by me, loved me unconditionally, and gave me four amazing children.

But, addiction tightened its grip. It led to multiple arrests and brought me to the lowest point I’d ever known. During my final stint in jail, I suffered a devastating loss—my mother passed away from alcoholism. Alcohol was a constant source of chaos and I often found myself in the eye of it.

Addiction, much like a tornado, tore through everything I loved. It stole my peace, my freedom, and nearly cost me my family. But in the eye of that storm, something shifted. I found sobriety in the most unexpected place: storm chasing.

What once fueled chaos in my life became a source of focus and purpose. I immersed myself in weather—studying patterns, tracking radar, and exploring storm science. I also stepped into a role I never imagined: Little League coach. Guiding my kids on the same fields where I once played helped me reconnect with my roots, give back, and rebuild.

Out of these experiences, our family founded the 4H Storm Relief Project—a mission to support families affected by severe weather through hands-on help, donations, and hope.
